Ahmet was born and raised in Colorado and built his fame skiing and doing big air. The great thing about growing up in the mountains and skiing all over the world– they just happen to have the best fishing spots as well. An avid fly fisherman Ahmet divides his time when the skiing is no good, he fishes, when the skiing is good you will find him making crazy jumps and doing things most of us cringe at. Catch Ahmet on youtube or instagram for all his adventures.
Leif was born and raised in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. Growing up he spent most days exploring and searching for wildlife in the seemingly endless forest behind the house. Living so close to the serenity of places like Canadice and Hemlock Lakes meant that fishing was just something we did. His first memories of catching fish were at the age of 4 or 5 when he graduated from the stick with twine attached to his fathers rod and reel. Having lived in Florida, California, and Connecticut he was never far from the next fishing adventure. Eventually he ended up back near where he grew up in Rochester, NY but wasn’t really doing what he loved. It was the birth of his daughter that made him realize he needed to enjoy every day the best he could. So he traded in his suit and started to build the wood shop that he had always wanted, as a way to create. At this time the fly fishing bug settled pretty deeply with him as a lover of the Great Lakes Tributaries chasing monster Brown Trout and Steelhead. His woodworking skills that he learned at a young age led him to build a few wooden landing nets for himself and a few of his fishy friends. His nets ended up getting noticed by a few folks in the fly fishing industry and Streamwalker Nets was born.
Today as the founder of Streamwalker he spends his days working in the industry he loves and spends as much time as possible chasing the next fly fishing adventure. Leif is also a New York State Licensed guide, a Real Estate pro, and most importantly, father of two awesome kids with his wife Jess.
